go beyond traditional flight training

REAL CHARTER FLIGHTS. REAL PILOTS. REAL EXPERIENCE.

At Discovery Flight School, we believe preparing for a professional aviation career requires more than flight hours and checkrides. Through our Part 135 partnerships, students have opportunities to ride along on active charter flights, gaining firsthand exposure to the responsibilities, decision-making, and professional standards of working charter pilots.

These aren't simulated training scenarios or staged demonstrations. They're actual charter missions conducted by professional flight crews, providing a unique opportunity to see what the job really looks like.

THE ENTIRE MISSION START TO FINISH

There's a lot more to being a professional pilot than flying the airplane.

Students have the opportunity to observe experienced Part 135 captains throughout the entire charter operation, from initial flight preparation to securing the aircraft after the mission.

Depending on the flight, this may include reviewing weather and flight plans, conducting preflight inspections, coordinating with passengers and ground personnel, managing in-flight decisions, navigating international procedures and customs, completing required paperwork, and performing postflight duties.

By seeing how professional pilots manage these responsibilities in real time, students develop a deeper understanding of the operational discipline, sound judgment, and attention to detail required in commercial aviation.

LEARN FROM THE PILOTS DOING THE JOB

Our partnerships connect students directly with experienced Part 135 pilots operating in the industry today. Observing these captains in their working environment provides perspective that simply cannot be replicated through traditional flight instruction.

Students witness how experienced pilots evaluate risk, adapt to changing conditions, communicate with passengers and crew, and make decisions when the mission doesn't go exactly as planned.

It's an opportunity to learn not just how to fly, but how to think and operate like a professional pilot.

TRAINING WITH A DESTINATION

Our mission is to develop pilots who are prepared to enter professional aviation, not simply meet the minimum requirements for a certificate.

By combining structured flight training with exposure to actual charter operations, we help students build the knowledge, confidence, and professional mindset needed to make the transition from student pilot to working aviator.

Qualifying graduates also receive a guaranteed interview with a Part 135 operator partner within 90 days of program completion, providing a direct opportunity to take the next step toward their aviation career.
