already have your private certificate?
keep moving forward!

You've already taken your first major step toward a professional flying career. You shouldn't have to start over.

The Career Program — Credit Private builds on your existing experience and continues your training toward instrument, commercial, and multi-engine qualifications, followed by advanced charter-oriented flight experience.

You'll receive the same Part 135 integration as our zero-time Career Program, including training from active charter captains, real charter flight ride-alongs, specialized ground school, and access to our operator interview pathway.

Different starting point. Same professional destination.

your training is connected to
active charter operations

Learn from working captains, experience real charter flights, and prepare for the career you’re pursuing.

Most flight schools prepare students for their next checkride with the minimum required experience to be eligible. Discovery Flight School goes further by connecting your training directly to the world of professional Part 135 charter aviation.

01 – learn from active charter captains

Every Discovery Flight School instructor is an active Part 135 captain. From your first lesson, you're learning from pilots who routinely make the same decisions, manage the same responsibilities, and uphold the same professional standards you're preparing to encounter in your career.

02 – ride along on real charter flights

Every student participates in ride-alongs aboard active Part 135 charter flights. Observe professional crews as they plan, prepare, execute, and complete actual missions. Experience the responsibilities of charter flying firsthand, beyond what a traditional flight lesson can teach.

03 – Train for professional operations

Our programs integrate 40+ hours of Part 135 ground school with standardized procedures, operational decision-making, mission planning, and professional flight training. Learn the knowledge and habits expected in the charter environment before applying for your first position.

04 – experience the profession

Apply your growing skills to professional operating standards through charter-focused ground school, standardized procedures, captain mentorship, and firsthand observation of active charter missions. This stage connects everything you've learned to the responsibilities of a working pilot.

05 – connect with charter operators

Our relationships with Part 135 operators extend beyond training. Qualifying graduates receive a guaranteed interview with an operator partner within 90 days of successful program completion, creating a direct opportunity to pursue professional employment.

500 hours should mean more than 500 hours

Accumulating flight time doesn't automatically develop professional judgment.

Our advanced training emphasizes cross-country mission planning, instrument operations, crew coordination, multi-engine experience, and the responsibilities expected of a charter pilot.

You're not simply logging hours. You're learning how to use them.

The goal is to arrive at the next opportunity better prepared

for the duties expected of a professional pilot.

from training to your first operator interview

Your training is designed around the next step: entering professional aviation.

Within 90 days of successful program completion, qualifying graduates receive a guaranteed interview with a Part 135 operator partner.

You'll have the opportunity to demonstrate your technical knowledge, flight experience, judgment, and professionalism to an actual charter employer.

The interview opens the door.

What you bring through it still matters.

The guaranteed interview is an opportunity to prove yourself—not a guarantee of employment, a specific operator, or a specific aircraft.

this program is not
for everyone

Different pilots need different things from their training.

The Career Program – Credit Private is intentionally built for students who can make flight training a priority and want structure, standards, accountability, and significant flight experience—not simply the quickest path to the next certificate.

probably not the right fit
if you:

  • Need primarily weekend or occasional training

  • Want the lowest-cost path to minimum certification

  • Cannot train on a full-time schedule

  • Prefer highly flexible, unstructured training

  • Are still unsure whether professional aviation is your goal

  • Are committed to becoming a professional pilot

  • Can make training your full-time priority

  • Want direct feedback and defined standards

  • Value experience beyond certificate minimums

  • Want to fly professionally without becoming a CFI

  • Want multi-engine experience to be a meaningful part of your training

A STRONG fit
if you:

Not sure where you fit? That's worth a conversation. Tell us where you are now, what you're working toward, and what you need from your training. We'll help you decide whether Discovery makes sense for you.

a $107,995 decision should be
hard to make quickly

It should also be easy to investigate.

Before deciding whether the program is worth the investment, understand:

  • What certificates you earn

  • How much you fly

  • How those hours are used

  • What career preparation is included

  • What happens at program completion

  • How financing and payment options work

Don’t make the decision from a headline or pretty picture. Read the details.
